Stuart Crystal - James II - Circa 1685
Crystal Slide to commemorate the coronation of King James II of England (also James VII of Scotland). James was the last Catholic monarch to reign over the Kingdoms of England, Scotland and Ireland. James's belief in absolute monarchy and the divine right of kings, along with his religious policies, made him unpopular and he was deposed in the Glorious Revolution in 1688. James fled to France where he spent the remainder of his life under the protection of his cousin and Catholic ally, Louis XIV.
